Diversity in Theatre Panel FlyerCurious is committed to diversity in our work, especially in the voices and faces on our stage. Over the last ten years, 66% of Curious plays have been written by playwrights of color, LGBTQ playwrights, or female playwrights – an unparalleled distinction in our region. We are proud to produce plays that challenge and enrich our lives through different viewpoints and storytelling styles.

We like to push the envelope and are committed to exploring ways to do even more. Want to join the conversation? We are hosting a robust discussion on diversity in programming via a three-panel series.

The first panel will speak to why this is a vital issue and ask what gets in the way of making this a reality. The second session brings our city’s artistic directors together for a deep-dive into how to make this an institutional priority and why they have (or have not) done so. Our third panel includes administrators discussing the tactics and realities of budgeting for and selling diverse plays in our market. Dates for the second and third panels will be announced soon.
