Michael R. Duran, a native of Denver has worked as Actor, Stage Manager, Scenic Designer, Playwright, Director and Teacher in theatre and film for over forty years here and across the country.

Michael is well known to Curious patrons as scenic designer for productions of “The Long Christmas Ride Home, The War Anthology, Trumbo: Red, White and Blacklisted, The Lt. of Inishmore, Eurydice, 26 Miles, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Detroit and Venus in Fur.

As actor Michael has appeared in Denver and across the country; favored roles of note include: Robert in“Proof”, Chief Grackle in “November”, Macduff in “Macbeth”, Arlen Weinberg in “Innocent Thoughts”, Frank in “Educating Rita”, Princess Grace in “The Hostage”, Stanley Kowalski in “A Streetcar named Desire”, Nick Bottom in “A Midsummers Night Dream”

Michael is the recipient of the Denver Post’s 2004 Theatre Person of the Year award.

As educator Michael has taught for the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, for Abilene Christian University and presently for Metropolitan State University. He is a graduate of Loretto Heights College BA 1977 and Tulane University MFA 2009.
